My cousin is a hindu and married a christian lad. They are looking for names which are both English and Hindu with meanings. Could you please help! I said i would ask on answers. Thank you in advance for your help.|||There are some really beautiful Hindu names out there.
I love some of the "goddess" names for girls, such as Lakshmi, Parvati etc. Also Sita (beloved of Rama) and the middle name "Devi" (goddess). I also like Sneha (friendship), Sanjula (beautiful)
For boys I like Anand (joy), Rahul (conqueror of miseries), Raj (king), Akshay (immortal)
There aren't many names which exist in both cultures - the only one I can think of is Tara, which is a girl's name in both the Western world (its the name of a sacred Hill in Ireland) and also in India (where it means "star")
But I see nothing wrong in mixing a Hindu name and an English name - ie Thomas Akshay or Michael Rahul for a boy for eg, or the other way around if you prefer (with the Hindu name first) ie Sanjula Grace or Sneha Rose for a girl.
This is quite a good site for Hindu names:

And for British/English names try:
