What are the Colour names and meanings in madarin?

I'm learning mandarin, and i need to know the names and meanings of the Colors! =) please, names in mandarin, tell me which they are then meanings in english! =) thankyou! =)|||Learning the names of colors is essential in any language, but Mandarin colors give you more than just a tool for descriptions: they also have strong cultural meanings.

Red, for example, is a lucky color, representing prosperity, goodness, and happiness. If cash is given as a present, it is placed in a red envelope. White envelopes are never used, because white is associated with death.

The opposite of red is black, which represents evil and suffering. Although white is used in funerals, it is not associated with evil, but rather the absence of life, as during winter.

Yellow is the color of the soil, and represents earthliness and centeredness. It is also a color strongly associated with China, as the Chinese are descendants of the Yellow Emperor.

Go to http://mandarin.about.com/od/vocabulary/… for more information. Good luck :)|||These are the colors I know. I'm not sure about the other ones, though.

红色(hóng sè) = red

蓝色(lán sè) = blue

橙色 (chéng sè) = orange

黄色 (huáng sè) = yellow

咖啡色(Kāfēi sè) = brown

黑色(hēi sè) = black

白色 (bái sè) = white

绿色 (lǜ sè) = green

紫色 (zǐ sè)

Extra words: 深 (Shēn) = dark. 浅 (Qiǎn) = light. Add these in front of a word to make it into "light/dark___" i.e. 深红色(dark red) 浅黄色(light yellow)
